Many companies fail to realize the extent to which their printer resources are vulnerable to cyberattacks. In fact, in a study conducted by IDC, while 80% of the 440 companies surveyed indicated that IT security was important to their business processes, only 59% felt the same about print security.

The fact is, an unsecured print infrastructure at any point in a company’s network means an overall unsecured IT environment. The same IDC survey found that over half of the companies experienced an IT security breach related to print security within the previous 12-month period. And each of these security breaches required an average of 277 hours of time to remedy and hard costs of approximately $500,000 per breach, including fines.

As your customers’ IT partner and trusted advisor, you should stress the importance of safeguarding their printing resources. To help in this effort, we’ve provided an infographic below as a guide, featuring questions and statistics to help you present a clear and compelling case—and a definitive game plan.

In these days of heightened cybersecurity risks, printer security is too important an issue to ignore.
